I don't even know what's going on with this thing.

Some sort of late 70's era bong called The Skydiver featuring innovative ripcord technology. Obviously if this idea was any good, it would still be around today. It looks like a pretty wacky contraption. Culled from the pages of the February 1978 issue of High Times Magazine. Click on the image to blow it up and make it readable.

PS: Is it just me or does that bowl of "primo" buds look like a bowl of poop?

  1. I was just telling my friend about this long today and came upon your post when I searched it.
I have personal first-hand experience of the Skydiver back in high school and this was the most dangerous bong that we ever used the friend of mine who owned it finally had to sell it because too many people went to the hospital.
The ripcord and the size of the diameter of the carburetor when it was filled to capacity which shoot it so far down inside your lungs that you would actually believe you didn’t get hit.
That’s when it would start expanding deep into your lungs and you feel it in your chest to the point of passing out.
Also you must remember back that it was illegal so it was easy to hide under a sink if you twisted it just right you’d be able to see that it look like pipes as opposed to a Bong.
