One of the most ridiculous sites on the net. It's been up for a long time, when I first looked at it I thought it was a joke, but apparently they're serious. Of course there's some creepy old guy presiding over the whole thing, soliciting young kids to send in half naked pictures of themselves to show their "pride". The only good thing about this site is the music section featuring Red White and Blue. If you go to the site prepare to be creeped out. Make sure you check out the forum too, so much ridiculous shit in there.

The Big Takeover Zine #7 Scan (Classic NYC Hardcore/Punk Zine)

This is the last issue of the classic punk/early hardcore fanzine The Big TakeOver in my collection. It features musings on Sounds Magazine from the U.K., Bad Brains news, brief listings of other fanzines and record stores, and a couple show reviews, one of which is a really cool, but short announcement of an upcoming SSD/Reagan Youth show. (at "A7" one of the first if not the first hardcore venue in New York City) To quote the review, "S.S. Decontrol are Oi from Boston. The word is that they are as physically intimidating as Long Island's see em' to believe em' Nihilistics. S.S. Decontrol played with The Bad Brains and Undead at the Streets Club in Boston last month and brought down the house. Local favorites Reagan Youth set to play their third straight successful gig at A7 after an impressive performance with The Bad Brains at Village Gate."

So Awkward Part 2: Cordier Street Beatdown

This is pretty much the Euro counterpart of the Smash Your Enemies video. For some reason, I don't think these dudes are from a hard neighborhood or anything. Cordier Street is probably like the Clark and Belmont of France, records and t-shirt shops and stuff haha. One of my favorite parts is when they are moshing outside an abandoned building for no apparent reason.

So Awkward

Everything about this video is just.....awkward. "Smash You Enemies" from Michigan are a third rate mosh metal act, as this is their contribution to the litany of other horrible beatdown" videos in existence. (What up Cordier Street Beatdown?) Another amusing bit of info about this band is that they apparently wrote a song about beating up a 15 year old kid. Totally hard right? Anyways, I think the funniest thing about this video are their "crew" in the background, shuffling along looking like they're bored out of their minds and would rather be anywhere but there at the moment. Second funniest thing is in the beginning when the singer starts lip synching with absolutely no emotion on his face....like he's reading off of a lyric sheet while taking or dump or something. Yea these dudes suck. Oh yea I almost forgot, the camerca focuses in on some guy crowd moshing/killing like it's some super cool/hard thing to do. Fuck that shit.

Parkour

Parkour-An athletic discipline, in which practitioners traverse any environment in the most efficient way possible using their physical abilities, and which commonly involves running, jumping, vaulting, rolling and other similar physical movements.

A lot of you have probably seen some of this footage already, but I'm going to post it up again here because it's that awesome.

Sidenote: I wonder what it is about Rise Against that makes them such a conducive soundtrack to Parkour?



This guy tried out for the Jackie Chan stunt team but didn't make it. That just makes me wonder what the dudes who actually are on the team are capable of, because some of the shit this guy does is straight up unreal.
